Welcome to the Virtual Education JournalA New Issue of VEJ is Hot Off The Press! The Winter 2013 issue of VEJ has arrived. In this issue discover how our two worlds (real and virtual) are colliding - not in a violent way, but definitely with a forceful impact that has the ability to change the world! In fact, it is already happening. See for yourself in this latest issue of VEJ! This is Volume 2 Issue 3 of VEJ. |
WHAT’S YOUR STORY? The theme for the spring 2013 issue of VEJ is digital storytelling, so TELL US YOUR STORY! We are going to raise the bar and think creatively as we color outside the lines in this next issue of VEJ. We want to learn how you and/or your students are communicating, sharing, learning, and thinking digitally. How are you engaging and captivating others through the power of storytelling across cultures and disciplines? The articles and stories you submit to VEJ can be linear and non-linear, written or told through Machinima or interactive experiences in sl or other virtual environments. You can submit informational and how-to articles on digital storytelling or interactive stories, role-plays, first-person accounts of your adventures in games, creative journeys, self-reflections, and anything else that captures the art and science of digital storytelling. Think outside the box, be inventive, and surprise us! You may also submit articles about the work you are doing in second life or any virtual world/online game even if it is not directly related to the theme. We want to share the exciting work that educators are doing as they explore new and exciting methods of teaching and learning in 3-D virtual environments. We are always interested in stories about the techniques and strategies you are using in second life and other virtual environments for your own professional learning and for helping your students learn. Most of all we want to celebrate the joys of learning through the stories you share in the spring 2013 issue of VEJ. We look forward to having you share your stories and pictures with the rest of us in this next issue VEJ! Be sure to put hyperlinks to urls and slurls in your article/story along with lots of pictures. We would prefer pictures in png (but we can use jpeg and other formats) with the highest resolution/highest DPI possible. Be sure to include your name (both sl and rl). Your job title and contact information is optional. Thank you for your help! SUBMISSION DEADLINE is May 1, 2013. Send questions and submissions to rvojtek@edovation.com and be sure to put VEJ in the subject line. |
